Samantha

My name is Samantha, I am a current 5th year medical student residing in Blenheim, and am due to commence my 6th year of study on the 22nd November in Nelson. I am going to be placed in Nelson for the 1st quarter of my 6th year, which spans from 22/11/2021 - 27/02/2022. I am therefore looking for a room to rent for the short-term period of 12-weeks.

I am 26-years-old and from Rotorua. I am currently a full-time medical student at the University of Otago. I have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Biomedical Nutrition from the University of Auckland, which I obtained prior to entering medical school. I am vegetarian an passionate about sustainability and pursuing a lifestyle that is kind to the Earth. I am an avid trail runner, and have been training for a number of Ultra Marathons, (sadly the Island Ultra in Cable Bay was cancelled due to Covid) including the Valley Ultra in Craigieburn, and Tarawera Ultra. I am learning to surf, and thoroughly enjoy being in the ocean. I am also planning to gain my PADI Dive License this summer whilst in Nelson. I enjoy hiking, and have started to become interested in rock climbing as well. I am a keen reader and also enjoy writing and cooking. I am a quiet and clean flatmate, who has been referred to by previous flatmates as ‘The Caring Mum of the Flat’. I am also starting my journey in learning Te Reo Māori.

I am happy to answer any questions you have about myself, and can provide character references from previous flatmates and medical co-ordinators/tutors. I am likely to be extremely busy during my placement at Nelson hospital, especially as I will be doing 6-weeks of General Surgery, followed by 6-weeks of Ophthalmology.
