Description

Hello there, This is an international student in Massey University, and I’m interested in teaming-up (find members first, then rent a whole property together).

I have been in NZ over 6 weeks, and would like to make some friends in this way here. And it’s a little bit hard for me to feel free to join where there are people living already at this moment.

General processes:

  1. Find someone who is interested in this plan
  2. Chat or share ideas (hobbies, brief, pet or not, smoke or not, or something else) with each other
  3. If Process 2 works well, then find some properties for rent and take a look together
  4. If Process 3 goes well, discuss methods to pay fees and other things related to living (it can be done in Process 2 as well).
  5. Finally, rent and move in the house together.

Benefits:

  1. Everyone is equal here, we can vote for something or make rules together.
  2. Enjoy the sense of friendship (drinking togehter, cooking food and sharing with others, planting, shopping, gaming… It deponds on whether you like to do with others)
  3. Improving personal ability and learning experience (Personally, this is my first time to consider about these things, so whether it succeeds or not, I have learnt about something till now).

Requirements:

  1. Honesty and kindess (you do not need to be outgoing at the begining, because we are not familiar with each other, but everyone must be honest and kind)
  2. Come alone (to avoid “isolating” others, even you think you and your friends or partners are very kind people, but the others may feel they are isolated)
  3. When something goes wrong (relationship among us, equipments or devices, personal study… ), feel free to ask helps, and the others should try to help him/her.
  4. English (or basic Māori language) only in the public area (English is not my first language, I am trying to improve it. But please speak in English to strenghen the sense of trust, imagine that if two of your flatmates are speaking in their own language in front of you, how would you feel)
  5. No isolating and bullying

Everything can be negotiable (during Process 4, we can add or subtract or change the information above, except Requirement 1 and 5).

Actually, I’m not sure whether it would succeed, but just have a try.

Please DM me or comment below if you are interested in.

Best wishes to you all
