About the room

Huge, sunny room available in central Waitati villa, partly furnished. $150 per week including expenses. This covers power, internet, and washing machine rental. Rent would be higher for a couple but this can be discussed. No pets sorry, however you’ll be sharing with a cat and a lovely inside dog, so being okay with animals is a must. Smoking okay but outside only. Flatmate must be older than 25.

About the room: the photos show floorboards but it will be carpeted in the near future. The sunniest room in the house, with picture windows and a bay window. Furnished with an upright clothing rack, a tallboy, mirror and a queen bed frame with a double mattress (which was a temporary one for myself so you’re free to change this out). Lovely high ceilings and a defunct open fireplace which looks cool and works as shelving.

About the house: plant friendly, queer friendly, 1 other flatmate, a late 30s woman. There is a huge garden on an even bigger section (veges, flowers and fruit trees) which you are extremely welcome to help out in. There are many outside areas set up for relaxing or socialising, there are heaps of well established trees. The extensive property also has a couple of house buses on it, and the 3 residents (all working and nice people) share our bathroom and laundry, however they have an external entrance and do not come in the house. The fireplace in the lounge keeps things super cosy in winter. There is a cleaning and yard work roster which everybody contributes to.

Waitati is a small community only 15 minutes drive north from Dunedin city on SH1 and getting around the village is an easy walk or bike. Close driving distance to everything, including beaches, bush walks, Orokonui native wildlife ecosanctuary, etc. This is an ideal situation for someone who works in the city or Dunedin area but likes the small rural and coastal village feel.

About the roomies

I am posting my room which I’m leaving. You will sharing with Erin who is a late 30s queer woman, into gardening and socialising. She is a massage therapist.
