This is a large house on a large property with abundant gardens, trees, and lots of light and space. We are excellently located, in the heart of Mt Albert, close to the city, motorways, public transport, and beautiful natural spaces. The head tenant is a permaculturist who grows a wide range of fruit and vegetables including avocados. Another tenant is an avid cook, who loves creating cuisine of all sorts for the community to enjoy. In a cost of living crisis - our house is our sanctuary.

Here at “The Sanctuary”, we have three beautiful rooms to choose from - see below. We welcome those with interests in music, board games, permaculture, and conversation. We are a naturist household, celebrating te taiao, the natural world, and the naturalness of our bodies. We are a multi-generational, multi-species household with adults in their twenties to fifties, two well-behaved dogs, and a cat. Our non-human community spaces are full sorry - no more cats/dogs please.

The actives we enjoy in this beautiful home include singing, dancing, meditation, yoga, community building, time-banking, massaging, cooking, gardening, compost-making, movie-watching, reading, weaving, textile art, Dances of Universal Peace, and studying mysticism. There is lots of room for you to participate, observe, or simply do your own thing. 

The ideal tenant will be respectful, open-minded, heart-centred, and enjoy the serenity we aim to provide. They will be reliable, a good communicator, and their willingness to contribute to the conversation and activities will also be appreciated. 

All room rates are inclusive of reasonable use of utilities and household supplies, covering unlimited fibre internet, power & water, toilet paper, toilet cleaner, hand soap, laundry powder, white vinegar for cleaning, dish-washing liquid & dish-washing powder.

1. Kōkako room: $260 per week inclusive (Bond $1040)

2. Kiwi room: $290 per week inclusive (Bond $1160)

• Available Wednesday 30th July 2025
• Downstairs with private en-suite
• Includes a built-in wardrobe with coat-hangers

3. Kārearea room: $290 per week inclusive (Bond $1160)

• Available Saturday 2nd August 2025
• Upstairs, overlooking back garden
• South-west facing with afternoon sun
• Next to big fragrant lemon tree
• Includes two built-in wardrobes with coat-hangers and a large, high storage cupboard

Bonus add-on! Want to have meals cooked for you? For $5 per meal, if you’re not into cooking or don’t have the time, we can look after your food needs! Happy to accommodate any dietary requirements.
