About the room
Furnished room in Auckland CBD for a total of $205 per week inclusive of expenses.
Great location: about 6 minutes walk to AUT or Aotea Square, 10 minutes walk to University of Auckland City Campus, 15 minutes walk to the Grafton Campus. One block to K Rd.
Furnished room that has a single bed, a big study desk with a bunk bed above it, two chairs, two shelving units, lamp, a large double wardrobe, and access to a balcony that overlooks Queen St.
This is for your own private enclosed bedroom.
You would share the bathroom and kitchen with the other flatmate (female, 40s, professional).
The apartment has a very new washing machine, microwave, and fridge. Benchtop oven, toaster, kettle, are pretty new. A washing machine and dryer are in the bathroom (no need to head to a laundromat).
The building has secure swipe card access. Parking isn’t included but there is a parking building below and some paid street parking outside.
The room is furnished and I can supply bedding if you want. There’s already lots of cooking equipment, plates etc, but you can also bring your own.
Happy to rent to a student or professional, or tourist who can stay for at least 3-12 months. Would prefer female flatmate but might be open to a male one.
It’s really important that the flatmate is responsible: i.e. no drugs, locks the apartment, MUST be double-vaccinated and COVID-responsible.
Not a party flat - it might best suit a student or a person who will be fairly quiet. But anyone friendly and mature and responsible is ideal!
Further info: total cost is $205 pw ($170 rent per week + $35 per week expenses pw). The $35 expenses cover any reasonable amount of electricity and hot water, and the wifi internet is unlimited. (You can also use my Netflix if you want - no cost to you.)
Move in cost is $750 in total ( = 2 weeks of the rent and expenses (i.e. $410) and a refundable bond of $340 (i.e. 2 weeks’ rent). The bond can be returned.

About the roomies
There’s one female flatmate. I’m in my 40s; I’m liberal, easy-going; quite quiet but very friendly and willing to help (advice about Auckland, etc) and socialise if you wish. I have a lot of cultural and sporting interests and have visited lots of countries; I’ve also had flatmates from lots of different countries so can get on with nearly everyone. I work in admin full-time and I’m a writer in my spare time.
My sleeping/bedroom area is in what was originally the lounge area of the apartment. Since my area is not as private (there’s only a room divider) I need a flatmate who is definitely respectful of my privacy – just respectful of boundaries and not noisy in the middle of the night. Because my area is not as private I would prefer a female - but might consider a male flatmate if they seem cool and respectful and like the flat.
