Our lovely Whare Iti is almost ready for a new person or couple! We’re looking for a good, quiet housemate-neighbour who wants to live almost self-contained in a spray-free garden setting, complete with chooks and dog.

Sited at the very rear of the property (away from the main house), the little house is 4 years old and all yours! She has a fresh bathroom, combined living-dining-kitchenette, loft sleeping (up a ladder) and large deck. She’s fully furnished (you bring your own linen, bedding, towels and personal effects), fully insulated, sunny, warm and quiet with some outdoor storage.

Zoning laws mean washing dishes must happen at the sink on the deck and there is no stove or oven. There is, however, an electric fry pan and convection microwave and you’re welcome to use the kitchen as well the laundry in the main house. You are also welcome to use the swimming pool… it’s not at its best at this time of year though!

We are close to busses, trains, cycleways, cafes, bars and shops as well as Gribblehirst Community Hub, Auckland Central Community Shed, parks, sports facilities, Maungawhau and Eden Park. It is an awesome neighbourhood with some fabulous things happening in it!

$400 pw for one person inclusive of water, power and internet. $450 for a couple. A bond of 3 weeks rent is required, with rent paid a week in advance.

Owner occupiers living in the main house (some distance away) with Rusty the dog. Both self employed, creative, musical, quiet but social. We love nature and the beach; good food, films, family and friends; being healthy - walking, cycling, gardening, swimming, surfing and our neighbourhood! We are positive, optimistic and open to learning as well as being committed to living more lightly on the planet.
