Hello and thank you for taking the time to consider Tom, myself (Holly), and our dog Maple to be your future roommates. We are a couple currently living in Canada, moving to Dunedin at the beginning of February as I begin the Bachelor of Occupational Therapy Program at Otago. I am a 26-year-old Canadian, but had been living in Tasmania with Tom (33yo and local Tasmanian) for 4 years until April this year. We are extremely excited to explore New Zealand as it seems to have all that we love and enjoy. Our favourite activities include surfing, multi-day bush walks, cooking, camping, and exercising with our dog. I will be in school full-time, as well as looking for a part-time job a couple days a week. Tom is a plumber by trade and will be taking on full-time work. We are both non-smokers and non-partiers. We like to keep a clean, quiet space suitable for studying and enjoying just the day-to-day. We will have at least 1 car (street parking is fine). Maple is our 1.5 year old English Staffy who we adore in every way. We have had her since she was a young pup, so I do believe she is trained quite well. She loves all other dogs and is friendly with humans. She is quiet and with only a small amount of short hair, she barely sheds. I completely understand the hesitation of having a dog in your rental home, but I can promise you we are diligent and respectful tenants. I am hopeful we can make something work with facetime to properly meet before any agreements so everyone is happy! We are willing to start payments earlier than we’ll arrive as it seems that most agreements begin in the New Year.
