Description
Kia ora! We are Alan (30) and Panikaa (28), a married couple moving to Auckland for an exciting new chapter. Panikaa is a Fulbright scholar and Master of Indigenous Studies from Alaska who will be starting her PhD studies at the University of Auckland. Alan is a creative professional with a background in marketing, logistics, and music (Cello).
Our Lifestyle:
We are a quiet but warm and lively, tidy, and very respectful couple. We’ve lived in New Zealand before (Alan previously worked in Auckland), so we know the “Kiwi way” and how to be great flatmates. Panikaa will be quite busy with her research, and Alan will be working, so we aren’t looking for a “party house.” We value a peaceful home environment where we can share a meal, drink or a chat occasionally, but also respect everyone’s private space.
Why we’d be great flatmates:
Stability: Between PhD research and professional work, we are financially stable and very punctual with rent and bills.
Cleanliness: We are big on keeping common areas tidy and being proactive with house chores.
Culture: We love and depend mostly on home cooking, sharing stories about our cultures (Alaska & Mexico), and we bring a global, open-minded perspective to the house.
Hobbies: Alan is a cellist, but don’t worry! He is very mindful of noise and usually practices with a mute or at a studio. We also love the outdoors and exploring the local trails.
What we are looking for:
A furnished or unfurnished room in a tidy, friendly flat. Ideally somewhere with good public transport links to the University/CBD.
We are looking for a place to call home where we can focus on our goals while being part of a positive living environment. If we sound like a good fit for your home, we’d love to hear from you! Cheers, Alan & Panikaa
