I’ve recently gained certification as an Aged Care Counsellor- this is my new purpose. I have a B.A psychology/ sociology from UC. In my business career I did pro bono work for many social concerns including the Salvation Army & several trusts working for disabled & disadvantaged children. Although this was not my commercial work in marketing research and strategic planning, I found social causes to be most rewarding. I’m also writing a book, love walking and the environment we live in. I’ve managed National & International business ChCh offices & was in a partnership business for 20 years. Due to a life change in circumstances I live on superannuation until I find an Aged Care organisation to work for. I’m empathetic, compassionate and kind - although I talk too much. My family home was in St Andrew’s Hill, I have 3 wonderful children in their 40’s & 2 very special grandchildren. I love life & people. Best wishes Garry Urlwin
