Hi, I’m Lisa, a Brit with NZ citizenship since 2006. I’m looking for a cheap place to live in Christchurch until next year. I usually live with my niece and her family (3 kids, 2 cats, 1 dog) but they’ve just moved to Nelson and need to fix up their new house before there’s room for me to join them. While renovations are ongoing I thought I’d stay in Christchurch as we’ve been living rural out at Oxford for a couple of years and I miss the city buzz!

I’m friendly and housetrained but fairly introverted so I do love peace & quiet and my own space. Clean, tidy and respectful of shared spaces. Non-smoker and not much of a drinker so not looking for a party flat. Not great at cooking so would prefer to avoid the communal meal thing. Currently working as a house/pet-sitter. My ‘job’ since 2022 was full-time Aunty and cleaner for my niece’s Airbnb. I’m always busy, either quietly in my room (reading, writing, crafting) or out and about in the sunshine. Before returning to NZ in 2022 I worked for 12 years as a library assistant at a UK university.

I house-sit/pet-sit regularly so can provide local references who aren’t family. My last landlord was in the UK where I lived in the same flat from 2011 to 2022 (and got my deposit back in full at the end of the tenancy). Clean current MOJ check. Great with animals and small children, they seem to like me!
