Kia Ora and Hello,

I would describe myself as someone who is calm, respectful, and easy to get along with while still enjoying spending time with friends. Studying at the University of Otago has been such a privilege, from meeting people from all walks of life to learning about a field that genuinely interests me and will allow me to make a positive difference in the future.

I am currently working towards a career in medicine, with the long-term goal of becoming a psychiatrist. Mental health has become an area that I care deeply about, particularly after seeing the impact that traumatic events such as the Christchurch mosque attacks on 15 March 2019 had on individuals, families, and communities. I hope to one day support people through some of the most difficult periods of their lives and contribute positively to mental health care.

As a Muslim, I do not drink alcohol or party. I have always been considerate of the people around me and take pride in being respectful of shared spaces, keeping things clean and tidy, and maintaining a peaceful living environment.

I understand the importance of being a reliable and thoughtful flatmate and always aim to treat any home I live in as if it were my own. Outside of university, I have been involved in competitive fencing for many years, representing my club and achieving success at both national and international levels (Represented NZ at the U20s Commonwealth Championships in 2022 :)). Alongside my studies, I have balanced part-time work, which has strengthened my communication skills, responsibility, and ability to work well with others.

Overall, I believe that I am someone who can be seen as a friendly, responsible, and conscientious person who values creating a comfortable and respectful home environment for everyone.
