I’m 68yrs young. You might say I’m a ‘Leftie’ if that means caring about the planet and the people and the direction we’re heading in. I was in the process of heading back to live in Aotearoa when my sister recently had a serious health scare and now, instead of heading to Palmerston North, I would like to settle in Hastings for a while until things stabilise for her. An indication of who I am as a person: for the last few years I have been regularly helping out with marshalling the pro-Palestine protests in Melbourne as well as joining the weekly vigil on the steps of our Parliament calling for action on Climate Change. Also, for the last twenty odd years, I have worked as a mowing contractor/gardener so in this respect I could come in handy in your garden. I have a post grad dip in Social Work from Te Herenga Waka as well as an Assoc Dip of Religious Studies from the Union Theological Institute in Sydney. I’ve also been known to play the guitar and sing and go for long slow walks. I have mokopuna on the other side of the motu, which is another reason I am returning after 27years away. I also have a brother who lives in Hastings. We get on, but I am reluctant to invade his space so am looking for something for myself.
