I qualified for TENANCY COSTS COVER on 3 July 2026, which provides tenancy-related cover for 24 MONTHS, provided I secure a property within six months. Hi, I’m Jess. I’m looking for a long-term home in Palmerston North or the wider Manawatū area. At this stage, it would just be myself living in the property. In the future, I hope to have my three younger children stay with me, possibly every second weekend. My eldest son is 12, my daughter is 10, and my youngest son is 6. I also have three grown-up children and a brand-new granddaughter, so family is a very important part of my life. I moved to the Manawatū area four years ago after leaving an unsafe marriage and needing to make a fresh start for myself and my children. Since then, my children and I have been living in self-contained cabins on a family property. While the cabins gave us somewhere to call home during that time, they were never intended to be a permanent solution. The colder winters also became difficult for the children, so my three younger children have since moved to their dad’s home in Ashhurst, where they currently have a warmer and more suitable living environment. I’m now at a point where I’m looking for the right long-term property — somewhere healthy, warm and secure where I can properly settle, create a home of my own and have a suitable space for my children to stay with me in the future. I’m very devoted to giving my children a warm and loving home and creating amazing memories together. I’d also love to finally have a home where my new granddaughter can come and have sleepovers with me as she grows up. As a family, we absolutely love the outdoors and nature, especially anything that gets us away from technology and screens. I have a real passion for plants — mostly indoor plants at the moment — and I would love an outdoor space where I could expand my gardening knowledge and create a beautiful area to look after. Now that we’re well and truly into winter, finding a warm, healthy home to settle into is especially important to me. I would ideally like to remain within Palmerston North / Manawatū, close to my children, and find somewhere we can genuinely call home for the long term.
