Malcolm

Hi, I’m Malcolm (he/she/they) and I’m looking for a place in Christchurch and Christchurch Central with a budget of $200-250 per week. I’m a soon to be second year bachelor student.

I recently spent my first year of my course housed at the Ara accomodation, so I’m not entirely uneducated in the norms of flatting with others. I do my best to be respectful of others and their space, and on the occasion like to bring home a treat for the whole flat like a pack of donuts or some pizza. I am a lover of all kinds of food and got no food allergies, so I am quite genuinely a garbage disposal for any scraps or soon-to-be-off food.

I’m mildly allergic to cats and dogs, just a bit of sneezing and irritation. Despite this I do LOVE pets, including cats and dogs. I love birds, lizards, mammals, bugs—if I wasn’t doing musical theatre, I’d be studying animal biology. I love music, so best if you’re unopposed to humming and singing (usually while doing chores or in my room). I’m otherwise a fairly non-loud person, and I don’t play any instruments.

I don’t smoke or vape. (God forbid, I need to keep my vocal cords intact if I want to perform.) I don’t particularly desire to be amongst those that do, but as long as it doesn’t impact my own quality of life it’s chill. I try my best to tidy up and do chores, but my course lends me to being out of house early and back in late, so I dont always have the time to clean up consistently.

I do have a partner who I visit and who visits me, so it would be preferable if you are okay with this, or at least up for negotiations. They’re even more of responsible person than I am, so I’d like to say there need not be any worry of bad behaviour and destruction of anything. I’ll let you know if they are planning on coming over.
