Firnas Aleem

Hi, I’m from Sri Lanka and will be moving to Christchurch in February 2027 to study a Master of Artificial Intelligence at the University of Canterbury. I’m a software engineer with around nine years of professional experience.

I’m married, and my wife is a nurse who will remain in Sri Lanka during the first year of my studies. I’ll initially be looking for accommodation just for myself.

I’m friendly, easygoing, helpful, tidy, and responsible. I enjoy meeting new people, having friendly conversations, and learning about different cultures. I respect others’ privacy, value cleanliness, and am always happy to help with household responsibilities.

In my free time, I enjoy exploring new places, learning new things, and spending time with good company. I also appreciate a peaceful and comfortable environment for studying.

I’m looking for a furnished room in Ilam, Upper Riccarton, or Riccarton, preferably close to the University of Canterbury. My budget is around two hundred New Zealand dollars per week, ideally including utilities.

I’m hoping to find a comfortable home with friendly and respectful flatmates. Looking forward to becoming part of a welcoming household!
