Your room and private garden access

We have three rooms for rent. Each room is part of a large, modern home and has private access to the garden, giving you the freedom to step outside and enjoy the outdoor space without needing to go through the main living areas.

The generous size of the property means there is plenty of space to relax, find a quiet spot to read or enjoy a coffee, or simply make the most of the peaceful Tamahere surroundings.

It’s a great option for someone who values privacy, space and a comfortable home environment rather than simply renting a room in a busy or crowded house.

A home designed for relaxing and enjoying life

One of the things that makes our home special is that it is genuinely a home that our family enjoys spending time in.

We have plenty of spaces for relaxing and having fun, including a dedicated movie room. Our family loves the occasional movie night, making it a cosy place to unwind and enjoy a film together.

For something a little more competitive, we also have a pool table, so there is always the opportunity for a friendly game or two.

You can enjoy your own privacy when you want it, but there is also the opportunity to be part of a warm and welcoming household when you feel like socialising.

You get the feeling of being away from the hustle and bustle, while still having relatively easy access to Hamilton, Cambridge and the wider Waikato. The Waikato Expressway also provides convenient connections for those travelling towards Cambridge or Auckland.

Tamahere Village is nearby, offering local cafés, food options, services and recreational facilities. The area also has a strong community feel and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the outdoors.

We want our home to feel welcoming, comfortable and homely, rather than simply being a place where you sleep.

You can enjoy your own private space and direct access to the garden, while also having the option to join the family for a movie night, have a friendly game of pool, make pizzas in the wood-fired oven, enjoy a BBQ, relax around the fire pit or simply spend some quiet time outdoors.

It’s a home where there is a nice balance between privacy and being part of a friendly family environment — all within the beautiful Tamahere setting.

We are a friendly family of six, although our household is gradually becoming a little smaller as our children grow up and start their own adventures.

Our eldest is currently working overseas and comes home occasionally, while our second child will be heading overseas in early 2027. This means that, for the foreseeable future, it is mainly my husband and I, our two younger boys and our two much-loved dogs who live at the property.

We are a relaxed family who enjoy spending time together at home. We love the occasional movie night in our dedicated movie room, a friendly game of pool, cooking pizzas in the wood-fired oven, having a BBQ or simply enjoying the garden and outdoor spaces.

Our two dogs are an important part of the family, so we are looking for someone who is comfortable around dogs and enjoys having pets around.

As our family dynamics change, we are looking to welcome mature, responsible and considerate roommates who would enjoy sharing our spacious home. We appreciate people who are independent and respectful of privacy, while also being happy to be part of a friendly household.

We hope to find someone who will feel comfortable and at home here, while understanding that this is a family home and a shared living environment. It is important to us that everyone is respectful, tidy and considerate of each other’s space and lifestyle.
