A peaceful rural shared home for anyone who likes the idea of embracing country life without being too far from everything. We’re surrounded by open space, with a big garden, beautiful views of both the mountains and the sea, and all the joys (and occasional challenges!) of living down a gravel road.

We’re about 10 minutes from Pleasant Point, 20 minutes from Geraldine and Temuka, and 30 minutes from Timaru so close enough for convenience, but far enough away to really enjoy the peace and quiet.

There’s plenty of outdoor space to enjoy, and the house has a relaxed, homely feel. It’s a place for people who appreciate a bit of fresh air, sheep for neighbours and rural living, rather than city noise and traffic. The room is unfurnished but we can probably help out with some bits.

There are currently two of us, one French male, late 20s, and one German female, late 30s plus two very energetic spaniels who firmly believe they own the place 😅 A third spaniel is also planned, so you absolutely have to like dogs!

We’re social and enjoy having a chat, sharing a meal or playing board games together, but we also really value having our own space and respecting each other’s downtime. We’re definitely more cosy night in and a game with friends than party house. We do have an annual Eurovision party though!

We’re looking for someone friendly, considerate and easy-going who enjoys a good balance of company and independence and is happy living a little more rurally. Other pets may be negotiable depending on the animal and how they get along with the resident chaos. No other dogs but a previous flattie even had a horse!
