About the room
I’m renting out the second bedroom in my lovely villa-style home in Birkenhead, available from 10 October.
The house is spacious, bright and full of character, with big windows, loads of natural light and beautiful views out over Chelsea Bay. You can also see the Sky Tower from the house, and the sunrises and sunsets are honestly one of my favourite things about living here.
The bedroom is a large double, unfurnished, with a large built-in wardrobe and lots of natural light. It looks out over the front garden and has plenty of room to make the space your own.
The rest of the house is fully furnished and the rooms are all a good size. There’s a large living room, dining room, big kitchen, conservatory (yoga spot) and a third bedroom which is mainly used for guests and storage (and could also be used as an office).
There’s also a separate bath and shower, a separate loo, washing machine, garage, carport and off-street parking at both the front and back.
Outside, there’s a large balcony and big front garden with plenty of space to sit out, have a coffee, enjoy a wine or just make the most of the views.
The location is one of the best things about the house too. It’s about a 5-minute walk to the Birkenhead ferry, around a 15-minute walk to Birkenhead Village, and roughly a 15-minute drive into the CBD. Birkenhead Village has pretty much everything you need day to day, with shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, cafés and gyms. There are also a few lovely cafés and local shops just around the corner on Hinemoa Road, around a 5-minute walk from the house.
Chelsea Sugar Factory is nearby, as is Kauri Point, along with plenty of other lovely walks, green spaces and spots around the bays, so you get a nice mix of being close to everything while still having lots of nature and water nearby.
Ideally, I’m looking for another working professional who’s friendly, clean and considerate and wants a relaxed home rather than a party flat. Someone who’s happy to have a chat or a glass of wine together sometimes, but is equally comfortable doing their own thing.
It’s a really lovely home rather than just a room in a flat, so I’d love to find someone who’ll enjoy the space and treat it like home too.

About the roomies
You’d be living with me and my two little dogs, who are very friendly and love nothing more than curling up on someone’s lap, so being a genuine dog lover is definitely a must.
I’m originally from the UK and work in tech. I’d say I’m fairly bright, bubbly and easy going. I’m very friendly and sociable, but also respectful of other people’s space. During the week the house is generally pretty quiet and I sometimes work from home. Outside of work I love reading, baking, crafty things, hiking, biking and kayaking. I’m always up for a wine and a yarn, but equally very happy doing my own thing.
