We are very lucky to be able to share our rustic home, one of the ‘classic villas’ of old Ponsonby. Inner City and Outer City buses run into and out of the city along College Hill and also along Ponsonby Road with bus stops within few minutes’ walk from the house.

Our home has a bit of a life of its own; we ask that people be respectful of the common space and of the fine folks who come into and through our home - from all over the globe. There is no smoking or vaping on the property. We have a shared kitchen which sometimes features goodies for all.

We have a few rooms in the house that we make available for short or long stays. The rooms have names, inspired by the famous Alice in Wonderland: Dodo’s Nest, Caucus Room, Rabbit’s Hole and Toadstool. We can also provide homey hostel style stays: $65/day single (3 day minimum) or weekly stays.

We should mention that we have a cat, a friendly presence around the place who is not a ‘meower’ but loves a cuddle if you are so inclined.

We are retired academics (originally from America) who spend most of our time in what we call ‘the castle’ - it is a ‘granny flat’ at the back of the main house. We are caring, casual ‘not in your face’ landlords. We have been renting rooms in this wonderful old villa for years, often to students or travelers from all over the world. Recent roomies have been from France, Nepal, Germany, and most recently from Portugal and the US.
