About the room
Situation on a 10 acre property, close to the Kumeu shops, on a quiet no exit gravel road.
Great place to unwind from work and outer world stress. The Kumeu River is one of the property boundaries.
The home is low tech - no TV in the lounge, no microwave and is on tank water, so in summer time it is necessary to conserve water, (no long showers and washing cars off site recommended, unless you donβt mind buying in a tank of water).
Parking is off street and private.
The house is in need of some maintenance and TLC, but the home is comfortable and non-pretentious.
The room can be furnished (double bed, set of drawers) or unfurnished and opens onto a sunroom and deck which is shared with others.
The wood burner fire warms the whole house in winter and there is plentiful supply of firewood on the property.
About the roomies
The owner is vegetarian and the place is also home to 3 cats, 1 dog and 1 other flat mate who may or may not be staying on after March 2023. The owner likes the house to be kept clean and tidy. Housework duties will need to be shared. The large lawn and gardens are tended to by the owner, however there is a large overgrown vegetable patch, which if youβd like to grow communal vegetables, input into weeding and feeding would be desirable. Ideally you are a professional working person, with little need to eat meat or be vegetarian yourself. You would need to be an animal lover, although the dog is not allowed on the couch or beds. The cats rule the kitchen at feeding time, then quickly settle to sleeping on the chairs inside or out in the sunroom. Chickens, sheep and horses are also on the property. Power and internet combined is generally around $80/month.
