The Melrose Room.

Our Devonport Villa offers a spacious living area with stunning kitchen, views to Mt Victoria and right near the heart of Devonport village (5 min walk), the city ferry & the stunning beaches of Devonport, Narrow Neck & Cheltenham.

The guest bedroom is a typical villa bedroom with high ceiling and sash windows. It is furnished with Queen bed, bedside tables, drawers and desk. We can set it up to suit. There are beautiful views to Takarunga, Mt Victoria from the room, and the front verandah - a favourite spot.

Bathroom & powder room are shared, but there are two bathrooms and toilets in the house and our room is at the opposite end of the house.

The kitchen is fully kitted out if you’re a keen cook, or the cafes and restaurants of Devonport are just around the corner for those who aren’t.

Our home is newly renovated, is warm and insulated, though has some work still to do such as some landscaping. We’ll finish one day!

Guests often enjoy not needing a car when living in Devonport given the ferry and bus options.

Includes wifi, power, gas, water. Household consumables extra.

An academic at The University of Auckland, a scientist (and volunteer firefighter) our 10 year old son and sometimes 25 year old daughter. We have two other guest rooms.

We are open to longer-term arrangement or mid/short-term if required. Previous roomies have been professionals new to the country who have enjoyed our home and Devonport as a place to settle into NZ life before finding their permanent home. Others have been those needing a spot before leaving nz, students who need convenient access to the city or international students/families attending local schools.

Roomies have described us as welcoming and kind; we like to think so!
