We are looking for a single professional person or student to board with us in our self-contained loft/studio located in New Lynn. The room is located above our garage. It has its own entry, ensuite, wall heater, plenty of storage space, and a kitchenette (including a small bar fridge, microwave, kettle, 2x hot plates, and a mini oven). Your room gets lots of natural light from the morning sun. The room is unfurnished (we can supply a king single or double bed if required). Amenities included (reasonable use of water, power, Wi-Fi). You will not have access to the main house. We will both have shared access to the garage. You will also have access to a washing machine, dryer, and gym equipment, which is located within our garage. You will also have access to our outdoor patio area (great in the summer). You have exclusive access to your room (it is not accessible from the garage). You will have an allocated off-street parking space for one medium-sized vehicle (uncovered) up our shared driveway. Security: We do have security cameras on the outside of the property. Note: No smokers, vapers, or pets are allowed.

About the area We are a 10-minute walk from Fruitvale train station and a 5-minute drive to New Lynn town centre and New Lynn transport hub. Kelston Countdown is also a 5-minute drive away. We have Humbug Café and Chop Chew Takeaways at the end of our street.

Costs:

Rent: $450/week (includes amenities listed above) Bond: 3 weeks’ rent ($1350) Upfront cost: Bond and 1 week’s rent must be paid in advance of moving in (i.e., $1800).

We are a young family with a child under 1. We are both working professionals and value our privacy at home and will respect yours likewise. We do use the garage for washing, storage, and the gym. We live on the same site, so we will see each other come and go. We do ask that you treat the property with respect, be tidy, and be respectful of noise and disturbances. We will have a flat-sharing agreement when you move in.
