I have a spacious bedroom available in a large 3-bedroom house and I’m looking for a roommate to share this great space with. Sorry, but no WINZ.

The house/room: This large house will have just two people living in it – you and me. The living area has high ceilings with floor to ceiling windows filling the open plan living and diing areas with glorious natural light and connected to the good-sized kitchen. There is no garden, but we are surrounded by a wraparound deck that is not overlooked by neighbours and backs on to native bush, giving a sense of quiet and calm. Along with a heat pump, there is also a wood-burning fireplace to help keep the house toasty and warm in winter.

Your bedroom is 3m x 2.65 and comes with a king single bed, built-in wardrobe, tall boy, a small desk and a lamp. If you prefer, you can bring your own bedroom furniture instead.

The toilet, shower, and bathroom are housed in three separate rooms which is handy when sharing. Bills (power, water, high speed internet, and cleaning supplies) are included in the rent. I may ask for a contribution towards firewood in the winter.

Location: There is a bus stop just a short walk from the front door with routes to the CBD, Glenfield, Albany and Takapuna and there are good road links to these areas as well. Glenfield Mall and Highbury Shops are about a 10-minute drive in either direction. Free parking is available on the street.

You: are a non-smoker, responsible, relatively quiet, and an easy-going individual who respects privacy and maintains a clean living space by always tidying up after yourself. You enjoy a bit of conversation and maybe even a shared meal/drinks/film once in a while but are equally happy with your own company. No big parties please, but friends visiting is perfectly ok. This will be your home as well.

I’m an open-minded, easy-going man in his 50s working as an English Language teacher and enjoy camping, tramping and just generally being outdoors. I enjoy interesting conversations and comfortable silences in equal measure. I’m not the owner but have been a long-time tenant and have an excellent relationship with the landlord.
