A HUGE bedroom + ensuite has become available in our 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom townhouse in Avondale. Rent is $300 per week, plus expenses for a single person — no couples, sorry!

About the house:

Best of all, the landlord is a family member of mine, so the house gets maintained properly and will not be sold out from under you! Stability guaranteed. The house’s location is excellent, with the train station, Unitec, Pak’nSave, shops, cafés, and Oakley Creek all within walking distance. SH16 and SH20 motorway onramps are also very close at hand. The house is spacious and well furnished, with a mighty heat pump, fully equipped kitchen, and many homely touches. Off-street parking is negotiable, or there are plenty of on-street spaces. The house is clean, tidy, and well maintained.

About the room:

This is the master bedroom, which is sunny and enormous! You will have your own ensuite bathroom. There is a walk-in wardrobe with very sensible multi-level shelving (though the room is otherwise unfurnished). There are many windows, including wide bifolding ones which open over the garden and extend to the harbour in the distance. With the abundance of space, the room could suit someone who is looking for room to store stacks of clothing and gear… or simply someone who likes to spread out. We are Jono, Maud, and Matthew, and we are young professionals. We are LGBT+ friendly. Our flat will soon celebrate its 3rd birthday! Whether you are quiet or like to socialise, you will fit right in; we are often busy during the week, but during our spare time we are open to company for hiking, skiing, road trips around NZ, get-togethers, reading, cooking, or chats about nerdy topics! Equally, no problem if you prefer to be independent.

About you:

We’re looking for someone very clean, tidy, and considerate — a young professional, a student… just not a party animal! A person looking to move in for the long term would be ideal. If you enjoy weekend road trips and would like to get out and see NZ, that would be a bonus, since I am often looking for company for these trips! Unfortunately, we can’t accommodate couples, kids, pets, or smokers.
