About the room

I’ve got a furnished room available in a four-bedroom house in Burnside. It’s available now and would suit someone looking for a short-term place for around six months, as the house will likely be sold sometime around November.

If desired, the room comes with a queen bed and wardrobe, and I’m happy to provide a desk and chair if you need them. It gets plenty of morning sun, stays nice and warm, and makes a comfortable base whether you’re working, studying, or just passing through Christchurch.

The house itself is quiet, tidy, and pretty relaxed. There’s a shared bathroom, a full kitchen, and a laundry with a washer and dryer. Outside there’s a small garden that’s a nice spot for a morning coffee or to unwind after work, and the living room has a heat pump that keeps the place warm through winter.

If you’ve got a bike, climbing gear, or other equipment, there’s space to store it in the garage or shed. There’s also a set of weights in the garage if you’re into lifting.

The house is in a handy location with easy access to bus routes, the supermarket, and close to the UC.

About the roomies

At the moment it’s just me living here, with my girlfriend staying over occasionally, although I’m hoping to fill another room after this one or to get a couple in. Currenlty finishing up a PhD, but I’m super easygoing and generally up for whatever. Outside of work, I’m usually rock climbing, op shopping, or doing something outdoors, so it’d be great to have someone who’s keen to join the occasional weekend trip.

Given it’s just me here, it’s not super rowdy currently, but I’m very happy having people around for drinks a movie, gaming, or whatever.
