Previous flatmates have said:
“I know many international students want to integrate into life here, but it’s not easy due to our limited English and cultural differences. The best way is to find locals who are willing and patient enough to keep communicating with you.
Zoë and her kids really enjoy Asian cuisine. When the weather is nice on weekends, we sometimes planned outings. If you want your room to be more than just a place to sleep and eat, if you’re tired of coming home every day just to scroll through your phone and watch TV series, if you miss having companionship like back home—someone to chat with and share life’s little moments—this is the perfect choice for you.”
- Luca, graduate student VUC (China)
“I really liked staying at your place. I could really feel the local vibe and there’s a warmth in the house. I enjoyed playing with kids (dance, soccer, cooking, reading, watching drama, and so on). Joining in with BBQ, Christmas, and going to ocean to surf. Also, the place is quite big, clean and chilling” - Haru, 23 years old, Japan.
Please note: We have lots of flatmates who like to be alone and dont want to spend time with the family. That is also OK with us. We’re here if you ever need support or would like to spend time with us. We just ask for quiet after 8pm, as our youngest child will be asleep.
About the roomies
We are 1 working mum and 2 kids; 14 and 9 years old. Kids like K-pop dancing, Lego, surfing and being creative. We are a fun, flexible and busy family. There is one other quiet flatmate. We sometimes go to the beach to surf or swim, or to local activities and when we have enough seats in the car we can invite you, if you are interested.
