Both rooms are free now — so if you and a friend are already flatting together, you can take them both and have the downstairs between you.

The first room is a double with a built-in wardrobe and its own sliding door opening straight onto the rear courtyard, which is shared with the rest of the house. Having your own door outside is rare at this price. The second is slightly larger with a built-in wardrobe, no external door.

Both $260 per week including power, water and unlimited fibre broadband. No bill-splitting, no surprises. $1,040 to move in — three weeks bond plus one week rent in advance.

Kitchen, laundry and living areas are shared with the whole house.

Getting around: two bus routes stop 60 seconds from the door. The 712 runs to Panmure for the train into the city, and the 733 runs to Botany via Highland Park in about 25 minutes. The Half Moon Bay ferry gets you into the CBD without touching the motorway. Two minutes to the beach, and Botany, Howick and Highland Park are all close for work and shopping.

Parking: off-street parking at the house subject to availability, plus the street is quiet and safe to park on.
