About the room

Private and peaceful, this quiet retreat is just minutes from Marsden village and is a rare opportunity to join a calm, well-established household in a generous multi-level home tucked down a private, tree-lined driveway.

The home Three rooms are available (pick the one you like the most), each with a double wardrobe and enough space for a queen-sized bed plus additional furniture such as a chest of drawers, bookcase, or desk. All bedrooms are on the lower level of the house, well away from the living areas — making them nice and peaceful.

Set among mature native trees with birdsong for company, this spacious home feels both private and connected to nature. The open-plan kitchen, dining and lounge area creates a relaxed social hub, while a second lounge upstairs offers a quieter retreat. There’s one family bathroom, two separate toilets, and an ensuite with the master bedroom (already gone). To keep the home comfortable and unhurried, the fourth bedroom is being left intentionally vacant, so you’ll share the family bathroom with just one other person.

Location & getting around Marsden Village and the nearest bus stop are an easy 10-minute walk away. Ample on-street parking is available, and the double garage has room for a scooter, motorcycle or bicycle. A car space may be negotiable. For those who enjoy the outdoors, the property backs directly onto Johnsons Hill, with bush walks and runs right on your doorstep.

Who we’re looking for We’re hoping to find a considerate, settled flatmate who appreciates a peaceful home. If you value quiet surroundings, a bit of native birdlife outside your window, and easy access to nature, you’ll feel right at home here.

About the roomies

Robb (60) - home owner. I’ve been living here for 10 years. I work full time in the energy and sustainability sector, so I tend to keep fairly regular hours. Outside of work, you’ll find me somewhere in the outdoors, enjoying the quiet of the property, or sharing a drink with good company. I’m easy-going and respectful of people’s space.

Richard (57) - flatmate. Richard works for a New Zealand company with a global reach, which keeps him happily busy both professionally and socially. He’s independent and brings good energy to the house. When he’s home, he’s relaxed and easy to be around.
