About the room
Short-term room available until Sunday 4 October 2026.
A comfortable, sunny home in Stoke, handy to Monaco, the airport and local cycleways, with off-street parking and plenty of space both inside and out.
The available room is a generous furnished double with a large window, built-in wardrobe, desk and additional storage. It gets good natural light and has enough space to feel like your own retreat rather than just somewhere to sleep.
The shared living spaces are relaxed and homely, with a separate dining area and a big, sunny lounge. Winter is well catered for with both a heat pump and fireplace, so the house stays warm and cosy through the colder months.
There’s a good-sized kitchen, bathroom with shower over bath, and a separate toilet.
Outside there’s a large sunny deck and fully fenced backyard, with plenty of space to enjoy once the weather warms up.
It’s a warm, welcoming home with plenty of space to relax, while still having room to do your own thing.
About the roomies
You’ll be sharing with me and Lottie, my dog. I manage a local not-for-profit, so weekdays tend to be pretty busy and I like home to be somewhere comfortable to unwind.
I’m friendly and sociable and enjoy good company, a chat, a shared meal or a glass of wine, but I also value my own space and downtime. I’m a bit of a creative at heart — I love sewing, crochet, kintsugi and will happily have a go at pretty much anything creative. Lottie and I also do dog agility together, and I’m involved with my local church.
I’ve hosted international homestays before and really enjoy having people from different backgrounds around, so I’d be very happy to welcome someone who’s new to New Zealand or comes from a different culture.
Lottie is a whippet-cross/SPCA special with a big personality. She can take a little while to warm up to new people, but once you’re accepted, she firmly believes that one of your main reasons for living here is to provide her with cuddles. She’s affectionate, playful, very fast, occasionally a complete ratbag, and very much part of the household.
I’m looking for a short-term flatmate who wants a relaxed, friendly home — independent and happy doing their own thing, but also comfortable having a chat and being part of the household when it suits.
