Furnished room available for short term (open to longer if we enjoy having you around and visa versa), in owner occupied house. The price includes gas, power, internet, basic cleaning products, laundry powder, toilet-paper and lemons from the lemon tree. You’ll only need to worry about your own food and toiletries. Shared bathroom includes a toilet, vanity with sink and shower. The kitchen, dining room, lounge, conservatory, laundry and private garden are able to be used. There is a double carport you can share with the property owner. Upstairs will be private to the property owner and her child (it’s their sleeping quarters and another toilet). The room has a queen bed, bedside cabinet, scotch chest and a double wardrobe. As you are moving in with a family, we have most things you will need to function. The house is a short walk from the river trail, bus stops and a small cluster of shops consisting of a dairy, laundry, and bakery. 6-10 minute drive to Massey, the Esplanade or the Square, depending on traffic. 20 minutes stroll from the Lido (swimming pool complex).

You’ll be living with an independent parent, their 10 year old and their medium haired domestic cat. We have full lives; working full time, studying part-time and school/extracurricular activities. We are sociable, with friends and family pop in for a cuppa and a chat, or there are often children from the street coming to hang out on the evening or weekends. We occasionally go away for the weekend, leaving you in charge of the house. Message me if you would like further details. I will happily work through whether we could make a roomie situation work. I am a non-smoker and don’t do drugs, despite being social this is not a party house. I do have an occasional alcoholic beverage, but it’s rare. I seek a roomie who is considerate, respectful, and will be prepared to tidy up after themselves. Someone who enjoys a harmonious household but understands children and the extra layer of tolerance/mindfulness that may be required.
