Annie's room

We’re looking for a fourth housemate to replace a housemate who is leaving to travel. The room is available for long-term rent, at least 6 months commitment preferred. Couples negotiable - cost advertised is for single person.

The house gets all-day sun, with a large lounge and separate dining room and kitchen. There is a decent sized garden and a vege patch. There’s plenty of extra storage in cupboards and underneath the house - ideal for gear storage if you’re into mountain biking, snowsports and watersports like we are.

The house has ceiling and underfloor insulation and a heat pump in the lounge, capable of warming the entire house.

The room is sunny and includes a built-in single closet. Queen bed, chest of draws, shelves and bedside tables can be supplied - see photos.

Our ideal housemate(s) is similar in age to us and works full time. We enjoy each other’s company and have our own busy lives too. We work in different fields - carpentry, finance and education - and spend weekends hanging out with friends, canoeing, mtb, hiking/running, camping. We’re not big drinkers or a party house but have friends over from time to time.

Currently we take turns cooking 1x dinner a week to share (when it fits with our schedules). We take turns with shared chores and clean up after ourselves.

Price for a couple = $250 per week.

References and bond required. Bond = 3 weeks rent. No smokers, vapers or pets (there’s already a cat).

Room available from 4 May.

• 3 of us: 1 couple (early 30s) and 1 female late 20s. Also one friendly cat.
• Working full time, Mon-Fri
• Out and about in the weekends and during the week - running, mountain biking, fly fishing, hiking, socialising…
• Have friends over from time to time but no massive parties

Extra: We currently pay $50 into a flat account to cover ALL shared expenses plus dinners 4x nights per week (we take turns).
