Greendale Avenue

My nephew and I rent this 3 bedroom house, (Kitchen/dining, double glass doors to cosy Lounge, 1 bathroom, separate toilet and laundry) which has been our home for many years. The room to rent is a lovely big furnished room with single cabin bed (drawers under), side cabinet, duchess, office desk & chair, armchair and large built-in wardrobe. Can be rearranged to suit. The rent is $225 per week which includes unlimited wifi (fibre broadband ), power, wood for the wood burner in the lounge and other incidentals like toilet paper, dishwash liquid etc.. As well as the log burner in the lounge, there is a heat pump to warm (or cool) the living spaces. We have a lovely, quite large garden with fruit, veggies and flowers and a very private patio area for relaxing outside surrounded by trees. We are in a quiet neighbourhood in Avonhead, just a few minutes’ walk from the mall, bus stop (routes 3 & 125), cafes and a pub. We are 20min walk to the University (bus route 3 goes there), 10min drive/bus ride to the airport, 10 min walk to Burnside park, Bowling green, Tennis courts etc. and an easy bike ride to Jellie Park (a large sports complex - swim, gym etc.. There is one off-Street park and plenty of quiet on-street parking. We have a large garage for our 2 cars but there is space to park a bike in there as well.

I am a lively, fit 78yo widow. I’m a private maths tutor and teach from a room at the back of the garage. I love dancing, reading, puzzling, gardening, crafting, board games and being a grandma. I have a positive outlook on life and enjoy a good laugh. My quiet 54yo nephew with a quirky sense of humour, also lives with me. He works on his computer from home at the moment and has a corner of the lounge as an office. We like to eat independently when we feel like it and we don’t do much cooking. Neither of us drinks alcohol but not averse to others partaking. We no longer eat meat but Colin has fish occasionally. We are tidy and organised and try to keep our rubbish to a minimum, reusing and recycling whenever possible. We are happy to share our comfortable home with a suitable roomie. We are looking for an independent, mature working woman - mature GBQ+ male also welcome - who is looking for a place to stay for at least 6 months or a year or longer.
