Brand new build, May 2025. We still have work to do here, like put the TV & pictures up on the walls, & finish the garden design and build, but the house is well settled, and everything works.

The house is very well insulated & has a ducted heat pump with adjustable ports in each room. Modern floor-to-ceiling curtains, plush thick-pile carpets, & fully tiled shower. Bathroom has LED mirror with Bluetooth for showering to the hits. Shower & bathtub in the bathroom, & a separate toilet.

Large dining room, well appointed kitchen with stone tops & built-in stove, oven, & dishwasher. LED lights under the cabinets, & island worktop floodlights. Walk-in pantry, & separate laundry room with washing machine & dryer.

Sheltered portico entrance, drawer for shoes, wardrobe for coats & jackets, off-street parking, 14sq.m deck in the back yard, & rotating washing line.

The two rooms are identical in size, 3.1m x 3.0m, plus the wardrobe space which is 3m x 600mm, & fully usable (no half-width shelves here!). Truly massive storage comprising double wardrobe with shelves & drawers, double wardrobe with double hanging rails, & single wardrobe with high hanging rail. Also storage above those for less-often-used items such as travel bags, camping kit, etc.

Both rooms have large double-insulated windows with floor-to-ceiling curtains, & are furnished with a double bed, bedside tables, & bedside lamps. And, of course, those huge built-in wardrobes!

One room is available from mid June, exact date T. B. C. (the other is taken).

There is off-street parking available in the driveway, and there is also on-street parking available right outside the property. Cars must have a current valid WOF and licence to enter the property, and workshop-style servicing is not allowed on the property in terms of the covenants. Washing cars is allowed, using mild cleaning substances.

Easy access to Christchurch & Lincoln by car, bus, or cycle. Lincoln uni is only 8-10minutes away by car.

I own the house and live here with my partner. We are both in permanent employment in Christchurch. I am an Electronics Design Engineer, 58, NZ citizen, born in Cape Town, South Africa. My partner, 37, NZ Resident, born in Bangkok, Thailand, is a Hospitality Worker at a five star hotel.

I play badminton, tutor calculus & physics to school students, & indulge in nature & scenery photography. My partner cycles, runs, & is a great chef. We love to travel together, anything from a day trip somewhere close, to a couple of weeks somewhere far far away.

The other flatmate is 22, working holiday visa, from Thailand, working at Lincoln Uni. the flatmate who will occupy the room until mid June is a 22 year old kiwi student doing an internship in the area.

We are all quiet non-smoking, light drinking people, respectful & trustworthy. We are house proud & keep a clean & tidy house. Looking for the company of flatmates with similar values to keep the chilled homely vibe.

Not a party house, but we’re happy to socialise over drinks & meals, as a flat group or with visiting friends.

Lincoln uni is 8-10minutes away, so it’s very convenient for students there. Welcome students, working holiday visa holders, people relocating to Rolleston, etc. Respectful, kind, quiet, clean, and tidy non-smokers are invited to come over to see the house and room.

$200 for singles, $300 for couples.
