About the room
You’ll have your own private suite at the opposite end of a cozy Lockwood home. It includes:
- A queen bedroom with built-in wardrobe
- Your own private ensuite bathroom
- A separate private living room just for you with a couch, lounge table, TV with Chromecast, electric flame heater, built-in wardrobe, and a desk
You’ll also have access to a large, beautiful (and sometimes a bit overgrown) garden with fruit trees, flowers, and birds. The property is quite private with plenty of trees, and it borders a creek with direct access. The house is conveniently located with a Woolworths supermarket and bus stops nearby, and Palmerston North city centre is approximately 3.5 km away.
You’ll have WiFi, parking, and full use of the kitchen and laundry. Rent is $300 per week including WiFi. Power and gas are shared between household members. First week’s rent is payable before moving in. While the minimum stay is one month, I’m ideally hoping to find someone who is looking for a medium-term home, with the possibility of staying longer if it’s a good fit for both of us.
This space is currently listed on Airbnb (you can see lots more photos and reviews here: airbnb.co.nz/h/ggscozycorner). I’ve really enjoyed hosting and all the experiences it’s brought, but I’ve decided to move away from short-term guests for now and am looking for a longer-term roomie instead. The set-up and furniture will be very similar to what you see in the photos.
About the roomies
I’m in my 40s, originally from Europe, and have been living in New Zealand since 2013. I’m young at heart — I still play on the ground with my dog ;) — while also being responsible and reliable. I work from home quite a bit, but I also have shifts outside the house, so I’m in and out. I value a clean, tidy and harmonious home, and I’m friendly and happy to have the occasional chat or shared meal. I enjoy tramping (when I manage to make time), gardening, making things, and going for walks with my rescue dog Dobby. She is a lovely, curious and cheeky girl who can be a bit anxious around new people and sometimes barks. She’s been here first, so the ideal person will love dogs or at least be very patient and comfortable with her.
If you’re respectful, easy to live with, appreciate a peaceful home environment and value having your own space, let’s chat. 😊
