About the room
Across from and with a stunning view of a hill and large reserve, this is a peaceful, cosy, 3 bedroom rental we’ve just moved into. I’m living with my busy and mature teenage daughter (approximately half the time), friendly cat Cleo… and maybe…you.
The bedroom has a queen sized bed (bed base coming soon), dresser and night table, and I’m looking for a small desk to add as well. I’d prefer you bring your own sheets, blankets, pillows and towels, but I can make this work if you don’t have these things. There is a log burner and heat pump in the living room, one semi-modern bathroom, with separate toilet, and a very modern kitchen. While these spaces are shared, there is ample outdoor space to do your own thing, on the front deck or in the back of the house in the gardens. I’ll be getting the organic veggie garden up and running very soon.
We cook mostly vegetarian, with chicken or fish on occasion. I’m open to sharing meals/meal preparation (occasional or daily) but equally happy to do our own thing. (I’m a foodie though, so if you’re doing instant noodles and sausages sharing probably isn’t going to work.)
Utilities (power, water, internet and rubbish collection) are included, but this does not include food. We will also have to have a discussion around housework and a contribution towards the wood pile in the winter months.
Some deal breakers for me are spray perfumes, aerosol deodorants and scented candles (these things give me headaches), but your usual lightly scented shampoos, creams, etc , and natural oils/smells are fine. Also, though we like to watch the odd movie on the weekend, or a basketball game, and maybe a series during the school holidays, I’m not really into having the TV on everyday (still looking for a TV FYI).
Long term is great, but I’m open to shorter term stays of a month or more. Any age is fine. The room is available now.
About the roomies
Kia ora. I’m a mum to a very sporty, mature teenage daughter who is living with me approximately half the time (although this is a new arrangement, so may be a bit fluid as we find our rhythm). I work full-time outside of my home, and I’m also an artist and keen gardener and cook. I love yoga, camping, walks, swimming, the beach and conscious dance.
